Overview

About this course

Immunization is one of the most successful and cost-effective public health measures for disease prevention. Certain vaccine-preventable diseases carry a higher burden of morbidity and mortality among older adults, thereby necessitating immunization in this age group. However, adult vaccine coverage is low not only in low to middle income countries but also in high income countries. Thus, education and training of healthcare workers is important to promote adult vaccination. This e-learning module identifies the barriers in adult immunization and summarize the recommended adult vaccines in different Southeast Asian countries.
